We are looking for a
Senior Developer
to join our Corporate IT Application Support group. Corporate IT provides IT application development, support and general technical assistance to the main MSCI Corporate functions including Finance, HR, Legal, Corporate Services and Marketing.
The main responsibilities of the candidate will be to design, develop and support integration solutions between externally hosted MSCI applications, internally hosted MSCI applications and 3rd party applications.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
Technical
- Strong hands-on Java development experience, 3+ years preferred (Java 1.5 a bonus)
- Experience of Web Services and use of ESB infrastructures (use of Cape Clear a bonus)
- Recent JSP and Servlet experience ideally on Apache / Tomkat
- OO Development and Design Skills including UML and use of design patterns
- Practical experience with relational databases, preferably Sybase
- Experience of developing on Linux / Unix platform (with Windows experience a bonus)
- Knowledge of XML parsing and generation
- Experience of Spring and Hibernate a bonus
- Experience of .NET / Sharepoint / Workflow development a bonus
- BS or MS in Computer Science or Engineering degree from a highly accredited academic institution
Non-technical
- Good inter-personal skills with ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Strong analytical and organisational skills.
- Team player and able to adapt well to change.
- Must be able to demonstrate intellectual capacity to learn very quickly and adapt to complex situations in a fast paced and demanding environment.
