About the Application Development roles:
We are looking for candidates to fill a number of roles in our Application Development group. The group is responsible for the software development work that results in our Barra portfolio analytics products. These roles are in a new team, based in Budapest. This team will work very closely with our other software development centers in Berkeley, California and in Sydney, Australia. The team will be responsible for strategic user interface and analytics components in our flagship products, using leadingedge Java-based technologies. The team will have responsibility for creating and supporting key components of a completely new, next-generation desktop equity portfolio analytics product and of our existing internet-based multi-asset class portfolio analytics product. This is a very exciting opportunity for you to be a key part of a high-performance, distributed software development team, responsible for engineering of strategic products that are key to our success. About this role:
This is for a senior Java and Java/Swing Developer for our Budapest software engineering and quality assurance team. This candidate will be responsible for design and implementation of user interface, reporting and some core functional areas of our next-generation equity portfolio analytics products. This role would suit a person who has experience in using Java Swing and JDK 1.5 to build desktop applications products, and who has a broad appreciation of the institutional investment domain. The person will be expected to work closely with our product managers and application developers in multiple global locations. We are seeking someone with a keen interest in application usability, expertlevel UI programming ability, experience with test-driven development practices, and the ability to critically understand and analyze products’ future development options.
Requirements:

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related discipline. Masters Degree preferred.

Software engineering experience on the Windows XP/2000/2003 platform.

Some Linux experience is an advantage.

Senior-level experience with Java Swing, JDK 1.5, JUnit, HP/Mercury QTP.

Excellent communications skills and English fluency.
